Canolfan Iorwerth Rowlands Centre

Fundraiser and former Chairman efforts and those of the committee members, over half a million pounds was raised to enable the refurbishment of the centre and the creation of the facilities detailed in these pages.

A retired farmer, Iorwerth has dedicated his time to promoting the need for community centres and enabling young people to achieve their goals and was awarded an MBE in 2005.

The Canolfan serves the needs of people, young and elderly, living in the south-east corner of Anglesey - Pentraeth, Llansadwrn, Llandegfan, Llanfaes, Llangoed, Penmon, Glanrafon, Llanddona and Beaumaris.

Lottery Grants from both the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Community Fund enabled the development of the Canfolan. Contributions have also been made by the Anglesey County Council, Cwmni Gwastraff Mon Arfon, Tir a Mor Cyf and CADW.
